My name is Karen Rhodes and I’ve been a dedicated practitioner of holistic therapies since 2019. Since I first began exploring the field, I have worked my way up to the role of Reiki Master in 2021 and Reflexology Practitioner Level 5 in 2022. 

One evening, I went out for a run, as I would often do and as I was running I slipped and injured my groin on the right side. For over 5 years I suffered with near constant and sometimes debilitating pain. I was using standard over the counter pain-killers, such as paracetamol and ibuprofen, as well as prescribed medications but nothing would help. Eventually, enough was enough, I went to the doctors and they sent me for a scan on my groin which came back inconclusive. I had settled for the fact that I was going to be suffering with this for the rest of my life but after 5 years of pain, I went to a friend of mine and tried a reiki session, I didn't expect it to work but after about 30 minutes, the pain had gone. Inspired, I took up Reiki myself and I can now control my own pain in a way no medication could.

 

I  was originally offered the opportunity to complete a course in Reflexology during my journey to becoming a Reiki Master but turned it down at the time. Months later, I was having a mediation session and I asked the question "what should I do next?". In the meditation, I was presented with a signpost directing me up a path to which I couldn't see the end but hanging from the post was a sign which said "Reflexology". At that moment, I realised what I needed to do. I have since followed that sign and become a fully qualified Reflexologist.
